Plan Your Visit

Do I need a reservation?

All of our seating areas are available on a “first come, first served” basis.

For the enjoyment of all our guests, we are no longer accepting reservations for tour buses or groups over eight people. Please use the form on this page to contact us to see how we might accommodate your group.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

It is against Georgia Law to bring your own alcohol and/or consume it on the premises.

Can I bring my own food?

No. While we don’t have a restaurant, we offer many food items, including snacks and light meals. You may bring birthday cakes and cupcakes.

Are you kid-friendly?

Well, yes. But by definition, a winery is an establishment for adults. Please consider taking your children to a family-friendly place and come back to ours when you can leave them at home and take a well-deserved break.

Well-behaved children are welcome to come in and stay with their parents or responsible adults. Parents/responsible adults must supervise their children at all times. Please be mindful that the winery is where adults come to relax and enjoy adult beverages—please monitor your child’s behavior. Adults trying to have a relaxing experience do not want to hear a crying baby or running and screaming child.

Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery is not responsible for your children while they are at this adult establishment.

Are you pet-friendly?

Unfortunately we are no longer pet-friendly. For the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, we ask that you either leave your pet at home or come back when your pet is not with you.

Only ADA service dogs are allowed on our property. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with physical disabilities. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).

We take a strong stance against fake service dogs. People with disabilities fought long and hard to be able to have their dogs in public areas. People who need service dogs have paid lots of money for dogs who have gone through many, many hours of training. Service dog owners paid the money to get a true service dog to ensure the dog was safe, could behave under any circumstances, and give medical or physical support when necessary.

A service dog is a working dog. If a pet distracts, attacks, or injures a service dog in the performance of its duties, that could cause a life-threatening situation for the owner of the service dog.

You may think your dog is well-behaved. But even the most well-behaved, well-trained dog can misbehave if there are other dogs around and it feels threatened. That’s when dogs get hurt, and people get hurt. You would feel very bad if your pet got injured, maybe even killed, by another person’s pet. You would feel bad if you or another person were injured if your pet dog got in a fight. You would feel bad if a person with disability suffered because the behavior of your pet affected their real service dog in the performance of its duties. Those are liabilities that we at Cavender Creek are not willing to accept.

We have been trained to recognize both real and fake service dogs. We know ADA law and Georgia law. We know our rights. Think twice before you try to pass your pet dog off as a service dog. We will call the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and report you to the ADA Administration.

A number of wineries in North Georgia allow pets. If you are traveling with your pet, please go to one of those wineries and come back to ours when you don’t have your pet with you.
